Meghan Matthews (Pixie)

Meghan has been a professional DJ for over 20 years.  She began in 1999 as a drum and bass DJ, under the DJ name, Pixie, playing on turntables at events and parties in Indianapolis and Bloomington.  In 1999, she began working with Scarab Records, a production company based in Indianapolis.  Over the next few years, she worked with several other production companies including iQentertainment and Spoololife Entertainment.  Melody Inn in Indianapolis became a focal point for underground dance music for several years and Meghan played many shows there between 2002 and 2019.  She plays genres of dance music ranging from broken beats, such as 2step and UK garage; to house, pop, and hip hop.  She spent 8 years (2012-2020) as one of the Resident DJ’s at The Back Door club in Bloomington.  In her time there, she utilized a time-coded system of vinyl which allows the artist to connect a computer to turntables, playing any computer music file as though it were on a blank vinyl record.
